Is it a bit weird to wish my predominantly male audience Happy Valentine’s Day or what? I don’t know, but I’ve done it now. It hardly seems like a month ago since my last offering of trading shenanigans, but there you are, I must be getting old or something. When I was a kid at school a month seemed to last about half a year.

Small is Beautiful

If you read my articles on learning to scalp last month you’ve had a pretty busy time of it placing hundreds of trades whilst not actually trying to make money! It was important that you practice trading without trying to make money because funnily enough it’s the desire to make money that probably makes most people lose money. Reacting differently to losing trades than you do to winning trades is classic human nature and is what most people do.
Analysis of 3 Years of Trading Results

To demonstrate my point in my previous article about starting off small I will use my trading results from the 3 years that I spent as a full time Betfair trader.You can see that in 2003 I traded 299 days out of the year, which consisted of 287 winning days and 12 losing days. In 2004 I traded 265 days, which consisted of 254 winning days and 11 losing days...
